I am a computer geek with a passion for outdoor sports, dinner parties, masonry, and Linux. I currently work at my own company Candela Technologies Inc in Washington State.

Candela Technologies creates and sells TCP/IP, UDP/IP and Ethernet traffic generation equipment based on a Linux platform. We now sell WAN emulators and WiFi test systems as well:

I spend a good deal of my free time working on personal software projects. My largest, by far, is ScryMUD, a Multi-User, text based internet game. To make it more visually appealing, I wrote a java client called Hegemon. Both contain a complex set of features, and both are released as Open Source under the GPL. I wrote an article about the Language Independence features of ScryMUD, let me know what you think!

Lately, I have taken an interest in hacking the Linux kernel. I've been working on adding support for 802.1Q VLANs. To see more on this, check out my page on my (and another) implementation of 802.1Q VLANs for LINUX.

To support my hacking habit, I've adopted various tools from the GNU foundation. Xemacs has to be one of the best programming environments available. However, it takes some work to customize it and make it really look good. If you are interested in seeing my setup, please see my Xemacs page.

I am gainfully employed, but may be willing to consider contract work. I prefer to be contacted by email, as opposed to by telephone. You can view my Resume here.

When I was in school at the University of Georgia I enjoyed Kayaking and White water rafting.

My Grandmother writes books and poetry, and has lately published a beautiful multi-media book (paintings, poetry, lyrics, and music) called Lullaby for Mary. You can find an MP3 song sample, artwork, and ordering information on her site.

C++ Classes (free code)

These are some projects from my school days. I wouldn't trust much of it, though some of the files have been folded into ScryMUD, where they are much more powerful and robust. Still, some of the examples may be useful to look at.
