The CT711 should only be used for RF noise generation and interference. This model will be discontinued and replaced by the CT712.
Due to a limitation in the CT711 USB device, the narrowest pulse achievable is 20us which limits its available RADAR tests to Short Pulse Radar Type 4 and Long Pulse Radar Type 5 as described in the document FCC DFS Compliance Procedures. RF pulses defined outside of these parameters can be used for other RF noise and interference tests.
We highly recommend using the CT712 for RF Noise Generation and simulating all RADAR pulse types for DFS testing.
The CT711 requires LANforge to be installed on an available Linux system (Fedora 24 or 27 preferred). The Linux system should also have access to the internet to download LANforge software.
